Steph ropes in Amy, whos reluctant at first, but agrees to help once she sees how desperate Steph is. The group work together to clean up the motel and they pass the inspection.

Pauls plans for the hotel development hit a major hurdle when hes confronted with Dougs cheque. Paul insists that Doug is a willing investor, but when Brad finds out he is furious that Paul apparently took advantage of his vulnerable father. He tears the cheque up, and Steph also pulls out of the deal.

Attempting to help him forget his troubles, Aaron and Kyle take Mark out on a boys night. Waking the next morning in the motel, Mark has no memory of the night before and neither do the rest of the boys.

Lyn returns to Erinsborough and is shocked to discover Steph is going into business with Paul. Lyn thinks Steph is making a huge mistake but Steph is convinced this deal with Paul is an opportunity to set herself up financially, for both herself and Charlie. Paige is confident shell ace the subject, but after making a gaffe in the tutorial, coupled with some thoughtless remarks from Courtney, Paige is left insecure about what shes doing. When Mark comes across an upset Paige, he cant help but offer her support.

Piper learns that her misinformed muckraking video has gone viral. Not only is Sonya is livid with Piper for posting the video against her wishes, but Tyler is angry because shes embarrassed and humiliated Courtney.

After discovering she was elected Mayor, Sonya isnt sure what to make of it how is she going to juggle everything. Toadie tries to reassure, but as demands and meeting times start flooding in before shes even on the clock Sonya knows shes in for a rollercoaster ride.

Arriving home in the wake of her confrontation with Mark, Paige is immediately greeted with the reminders of a future that may never be now. Shes also greeted with her mother, who has arrived as a surprise for the wedding. Quickly realising something is very wrong, Mary counsels patience, but Paige is beyond that, eager to move on.

Steph is put in a difficult position when Philippa arrives, having discovered that Charlie had made his way to Erinsborough. Shes not happy, and although she sees the growing bond between Steph and Charlie, she takes Charlie away. Steph has no idea when she is going to see her son again. Philippa, though, gently probes Charlie as to Stephs condition, then asks to see Lyn.

Charlie and Steph find themselves face to face. Charlies upset the last time they met, she told him to go away. She tries to reason with him that she was ill, but he doesnt want to hear it. Later, after a talk with Susan, Charlie agrees to hear Steph out. Toadie warns Steph against any further contact, but she insists she has to make this right with her son.

The heatwave continues. Convinced shes caused Sheilas collapse, a desperate and guilty Xanthe calls on Piper for help. First aid training kicking in, Piper calms a distressed Sheila. As the girls wait on news of Sheila at the hospital, Piper makes it clear that she will stand by Xanthe.
