Overview
Mark Chapman brings you the best of Sunday’s top-flight games as reigning champions Liverpool faced old foe Manchester United, while Manchester City and Spurs were also in action. Liverpool were attempting to win three successive home league matches against United for the first time in nearly a decade, having only been beaten once in the previous 10 competitive meetings. Manchester City experienced rather more difficulty at home to Crystal Palace in recent seasons, taking one point out of a possible six prior to Sunday’s match, while struggling Sheffield United were in desperate need of extending their unbeaten top-flight home run against Tottenham to seven games.
