Noble Consort Gao continues to torment Consort Yu, although Yingluo remains vigilant to threats to her health. We are introduced further to Eunuch Yuan Chunwang, who suffers after being caught up in Consort Xian’s earlier efforts to assist a family member. Yingluo is entrusted with the care of the Emperor’s gift to the Empress.

Jia becomes angry while pouring out her inner dissatisfaction and grievance, while ridiculing Concubine Xian's incompetence dealing with her family matters. Yingluo gets help from Fu Heng to secretly investigate and find the truth about her sister killer, While the Empresses is away, Yugui suddenly goes into labor and shocks everyone in the Changchun Palace. Consort Gao demands immediate action on a gravely important matter.
