Among other things, Dr. Pol treats a goat with a damaged ear, while Dr. Lisa examines a limping cow in detail. Meanwhile, at the clinic, Dr. Nicole is working tirelessly to save a dog's life.

It’s starting to look like winter in Michigan. The cold weather doesn’t stop Dr. Brenda from responding to an afterhours farm call to treat a down cow. Dr. Pol helps a German Shepherd that is in pain after eating cooked bones. Dr. Lisa uses a portable ultrasound to pregnancy check a highland cow, and Dr. Nicole staples a wound hidden under an Aussiedoodle’s thick fur. During breaks in the cases, Dr. Lisa leaves the clinic to go cross country skiing, and the Pol family gathers to go sledding.
