Both sides will be looking to build on impressive 2015-16 campaigns - West Ham ended the season seventh, one place behind Southampton. The Swans won this fixture 1-0 last term thanks to a volley from Gylfi Sigurdsson, with the Icelandic midfielder earning the Welsh side their first league win against the Blues since 1981. Slaven Bilic's Hammers were 2-1 winners in last year's corresponding fixture, as Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho both scored for the visitors with Kevin de Bruyne supplying City's consolation. West Brom play Middlesbrough at the Hawthorns in the first top-flight meeting between the sides since January 2009. West Brom ran out 3-0 winners that day with their long-serving midfielder Chris Brunt amongst the goalscorers, against the club where his career began.
