In contrast, it has not been a vintage campaign by Manchester United's usual high standards. This afternoon the Reds host Everton, who have also underachieved so far this season. This fixture has thrown up some classic contests over the years, none more so that four years ago when the sides shared a 4-4 draw at Old Trafford.
