The Tyne-Wear derby is one of the most fiercely contested rivalries in English football. While Newcastle have the better overall record in Premier League meetings, Sunderland have held the edge in recent encounters. The Black Cats are chasing a fourth consecutive victory in this fixture, and have won 3-0 on each of their last two trips to St James' Park. The day's second game sees Arsenal head to Anfield to play Liverpool. The Gunners suffered a 5-1 thrashing the last time they met the Reds on Merseyside. There will also be a look back at the goals from Saturday's matches.

When the two sides met earlier in the season, the Baggies inflicted a heavy 4-0 defeat on the newly promoted Clarets, but since then Sean Dyche's side have found their feet in the Premier League and are now a different proposition. Stoke face a tricky trip to play Newcastle. The Potters have come away with three points on just one of their five Premier League visits to St James' Park, but they have won the last two games at home against the Magpies by the same scoreline: 1-0. West Ham host Manchester United in the last fixture of the day. The Red Devils have taken 34 points from their last 12 Premier League games against the Hammers and last lost in this fixture back in 2007. Last season, Manchester United won 2-1 courtesy of a wonder goal from current skipper Wayne Rooney.

In this fixture last season, Hull ended a run of four consecutive league defeats by earning a 1-1 draw.

Saints also led when they travelled to Stamford Bridge last season, but Chelsea fought back to win 3-1 and the Blues haven't lost at home to Southampton since 2002. Manchester United host Tottenham, who are aiming for a third consecutive victory at Old Trafford. Last season, goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen earned Tim Sherwood's Spurs side a 2-1 win. Elsewhere, Newcastle travel to Everton and Tony Pulis sees his new side West Brom host his former club Stoke at the Hawthorns.
