Due to Owen's intervention in an attempt to kill everyone in the Klondike, Zenon and Tilt are trapped in the Red Labyrinth in a near-death state. Burning with revenge for Theodore, he also attempts to kill Burst, but Finn and the others rescue her and subdue Owen. Meanwhile, inside the Red Labyrinth, Zenon revives Tilt's hidden memories as a gift for the afterlife. Realizing what has happened to him, Tilt gives in to his rage and transforms into San Galgano, staining his sword with blood.

Finn and his friends infiltrate the ruins where Van is hiding to rescue Theodore, but are instead captured. Van explains the reason for his break with Theodore, and then overpowers Tilt, who has barged in. He then uses Round and Round to inflict the same pain on Leo as he did on him.
