But when that student was executed in his home, police began to suspect that Mary wasn't leveling with them. They soon reveal a much darker side.

She was a battered hhousewife and eventually she shot and wounded her violent spouse. Instead of protecting her, the local sheriff raped her. Then, she filed a civil suit to fight for justice.

She claims that abuse is what caused her to shoot her husband, but police find that years earlier she had committed the crime of larceny.
