Tóm tắt
Phim kể câu chuyện xoay quanh hai con người đến từ hai thế giới khác nhau nhưng đều có những vấn đề với cuộc sống thực tại của mình. Đó là Hilary - một quản lý rạp chiếu phim ven bờ biển có tên Empire Cinema và Stephen - một nhân viên phục vụ mới được tuyển vào làm việc. Và khi người quản lý đang phải vật lộn với sức khỏe tâm thần của mình, cô lại bắt đầu có tình cảm với Stephen giữa những năm 1980 đầy biến động tại Anh.
