Hơn một thế kỷ sau, cuốn tiểu thuyết này mới được chuyển thể lên màn ảnh rộng qua bộ phim cùng tên của bộ đôi đạo diễn Scott McGehee và David Siegel. Để cho hợp với thời đại, bối cảnh cùng một số tình tiết nhỏ đã được các nhà làm phim thay đổi. Thay vì diễn ra tại London, câu chuyện được chuyển sang New York.
