Episode 1
Seo Hwi and Nam Seon-ho want to take an exam to join the military, though for different reasons. They meet Han Hui-jae, who's trying to evade capture.
Episode 2
At the exam, Hwi tastes injustice, and Seon-ho faces an outcome he never desired. Despite warnings, Hui-jae keeps helping Hwi.
Episode 3
There are those who resolve to forget -- and those who don’t. Hui-jae confronts Seon-ho about what happened. Park Chi-do finds Hwi on the battlefield.
Episode 4
While on the run, Hwi hears a difficult truth from Seon-ho. Hui-jae travels with Yi Bang-won as he escorts Queen Sindeok and her sons to safety.
Episode 5
Hwi stays away from Hui-jae, who holds on to hope that he is still alive, and keeps an eye on Seo Yeon. A high-ranking nobleman is kidnapped.

Seon-ho requests power from Yi Seong-gye. Ihwaru covers up a murder. Hwi and his friends hatch a plan involving Bang-won.

Wary of Hwi's intentions, Bang-won tries to figure out what he's after. Seong-gye's council calls for Seon-ho's punishment.

Hui-jae comes across a man who haunts her memories. Seong-gye issues a warning to Nam Jeon, and declares the heir to his throne.

Jeon's true objectives -- as well as Hwi's -- are made clear to Bang-won. Fearing for Yeon's safety, Seon-ho takes her and runs.
Episode 10
Devastated by a sudden loss, Hwi takes his rage to Jeon. Six years later, Seon-ho hunts down a thief who's been intercepting precious cargo.
Episode 11
Hwi, seeking revenge, conspires with Bang-won. Seon-ho advises Seong-gye on what must be done in order to protect his crown.
Episode 12
Bang-won's rebellion strikes, and Seong-gye realizes it too late. Hwi has just one target -- but Seon-ho stands in his way.

With no further reason to stay by Bang-won's side, Hwi walks away -- but finds he must contend with Seong-gye's revenge.

Seon-ho acquires soldiers. Hui-jae mourns all that Ihwaru has lost. Hwi and Bang-won fool Yi Bang-gan into feeling a false sense of security.
