Overview
Maddie is a teenage girl dealing with addiction who has a reputation as a party girl who doesn’t think she has a problem, until she’s confronted one day by her school guidance counselor and is forced to choose between expulsion and rehab. Maddie makes the difficult decision to live with other recovering addicts at a sober living facility while facing the daily pressures of her teenage life. Based on the popular young adult novel by Blake Nelson.

Maddie finds it hard to keep her double life a secret after she blows off her curfew to hang out with her friends after school.

Maddie, Craig and Wes take part in a 12 Steps Call to try and convince Wes's former girlfriend Ali to return to the program.
Episode 4: Parties Without Borders
Springtime Meadows temporarily welcomes the residents of an upscale rehab facility, and Maddie is tempted to slip back into her old ways.
Episode 5: My Loose Thread
Charlotte and Cynthia are at odds at what’s best for Maddie. Trish starts a new job, but it may be too much for her to handle. And a group exercise at the house brings up family issues, especially for Wes.
Episode 6: Heaven Backwards
Trish is panicking upon the discovery that her mom has disappeared with her daughter, compelling Maddie to take a drastic step to calm her.
Episode 7: Sick as Our Secrets
Ellie’s suspicions about Maddie’s recent behavior grow, leading her to discover where Maddie is now spending her time. Charlotte presses Wes for more information on Maddie’s progress, leading Wes to suggest that Charlotte might need some help herself. Several relationships take surprising turns, and Wes, Vern, and Craig spend an afternoon bonding. Flashbacks show how Maddie and Ellie came to be friends, and Ellie’s own tragic experiences with addiction.
Episode 8: The Weaklings
While reluctantly attending a party thrown by Rebecca’s upper crust family, Maddie and Charlotte are horrified at Rebecca’s treatment by her family in regards to her recovery. Wes is thrown when his ex-girlfriend Harper returns and claims she’s now clean. He is further rocked when Harper drops a bombshell regarding his brother. In light of recent events, Cynthia is forced to re-examine her relationship with her fiancé. Flashbacks show how Charlotte realized her daughter had a problem with alcohol and decided to turn her in to Cynthia.
Episode 9: Your Side of the Street
Emma’s mom, Angela, returns wanting to make amends with Ben and build a relationship with Emma, but Ben is distrustful of her motives.
Episode 10: (Be)Coming Clean
Maddie is devastated when she finds out Charlotte is the one that turned her in. Wes comes clean about a secret he’s been holding, but it backfires on him, and Cynthia makes a confession.
