Overview
At an Australian backyard BBQ, amongst alcohol, friendship and a children's cricket game, a man slaps a child who is not his son. The party comes to a sudden halt. The child's parents are so affronted they vow to take the man to court. The police become involved and friends and family are forced to take sides.

Episode 1: Hector
It's the eve of Hector's 40th birthday and his wife Aisha has organised a barbecue with their friends and family. Hector is ambivalent about celebrating the milestone and longs for the carefree days of his youth.
Episode 2: Anouk
Anouk's life is full of pressures - her mother is ill, she's losing control at work, and learns she is pregnant with her much younger boyfriend's baby.
Episode 3: Harry
Harry has everything; the Brighton Beach mansion, the beautiful wife, a son and a successful business. But Harry stands to lose all of that as a result of slapping Hugo.
Episode 4: Connie
When Hector broke things off with Connie, her feelings for him didn't change, if anything, they got stronger. So, when Hector drives her home one night after babysitting, she kisses him.
Episode 5: Rosie
Rosie receives notification of the court date. Finally Harry will be punished for what he did. But her relief is short lived when she realises she is alone in her crusade.
Episode 6: Manolis
Manolis hates what the slap is doing to his family. His wife is full of vitriol, Hector and Aisha are being torn apart by their split loyalties, and Aisha will have nothing to do with the family.
Episode 7: Aisha
Whilst the court case is over, the repercussions of the slap are far from resolved for Aisha. Her marriage is buckling and her friendship with Rosie is in tatters.
Episode 8: Richie
Ever since Connie told Richie that Hector raped her, Richie hasn't been able to think of anything else. Somehow Richie's concern for his friend becomes tangled up with his own obsession with Hector.
