Hammer is on the sidelines at a football game when the quarterback is killed. Hammer investigates and finds that there were plenty of reasons because man was into gambling and throwing games. However, finding the killer is more difficult.
Episode 5: Warpath
Hammer goes on the warpath when a lovely friend of his is wounded and a multi-million dollar oil deal sets Indian against Indian and murder is the payoff.
Episode 4: Catfight
Hammer's friend, Asst DA Dave Hunter, is shot during a custody escape by Matt Rainey. Rainey is killed but Hammer tries to find the organiser of the escape bid and he must work with the three women that were involved with Rainey.
Episode 3: Kill Devil
Velda is mugged and the gang vows revenge when Hammer intervenes. They frame Hammer for murder and he is on the run until he is able to find the real killer and bring him to justice. Help comes from an unlikely source.

Hammer helps a very young hooker and talks her into taking a legitimate job. When she is murdered he helps her sister find the murderer. The clue turns out to be the owner of a black limousine.
