Overview
Jonathan and Mark's latest assignment is R.R. Benson, a cold and heartless businessman, who is polluting the oceans, maintains apartments which are below living standards, just to name a few. When he proved to be a tough nut to crack, Jonathan decides to take the direct approach and reveal to Benson that he is an angel and at the rate he is going he won't make it to heaven. But Benson is still unmoved, and the last thing Jonathan tells him is to read the Bible. That while sleeping a burglar breaks into Benson's home and shoots him. Benson runs into Jonathan asking him what happened, Jonathan shows him that he is a spirit and that he died. Jonathan shows him exactly the kind of life that he's been leading and how it affects others, and how people really feel about him like his girlfriend, who has another guy and who is planning a palimony suit. Jonathan then takes him back to his office and tells him that his ""boss"" is giving him the opportunity to relive the final week of his life. He

Now the residents of the neighborhood where they are situated don't want them there and are vocal about it. But when the son of one of them, hits it off with one of them, he thinks that they are a little hasty. And another woman meets one of them at the grocery and hit it off with her too, and is shocked to see that she is one of them, and Jonathan tells her why she was committed. Jonathan and Mark's assignment to reunite a Hollywood actress who is estranged from her daughter, who is also writing a book about her life with her mother which paints her mother in a bad light. They meet another angel who reveals to Mark that if Jonathan does well he will be moved up, which makes Mark to see Jonathan fail but Jonathan tells him that they have to abide with what the boss wants. They go see the daughter who says that she hates her mother because she drove her father away, whom she's fond of. But the mother says that there are things about her father that she never told her. When her daughter is watching a film, it turns into the night that her mother and father were having a viscous argument, and her father revealed himself to be not the caring parent her daughter thinks he is. James Earl Jones stars as Gabe Wilson, an old friend of Mark's and down-and-out jazz pianist who tries to re-build his life after suffering a heart attack.
Gabe reconnects with an old flame named Ellie, a God-fearing widow who is having problems trying to relate to her daughter, Vanessa, the vocalist in a rock band. When Gabe tries to encourage Vanessa to pursue her dreams, he unwittingly strains the not-so-harmonious mother-daughter relationship even more.
After Vanessa runs away without leaving a note, Ellie lashes out at Gabe, telling him that God made him blind to make him pay for his sins (he had become blind after a drunk driver struck his vehicle years earlier).
It is up to Jonathan to reunite Ellie and Vanessa and set them both straight.
