A new play about a man who dies and speaks to God opens. Jonathan is now a priest while Mark is now the dresser for, Fred Fusco, the actor who plays the lead. Fusco's a little morose. But after the plays first performance, he changes; he claims that God was in the audience. People think that he is trying to generate some publicity for the fledgling play, including Jonathan. But nevertheless it seems to work, the play is a smash and Fusco is changing especially after meeting a boy who has cancer. After the boy dies Fusco decides to bequeath all of his property and assets to an endownment in the boy's name. which makes his sister and nephew unhappy, cause they rely on him for their necessities. When he also announces that he will die soon, his sister tries to have him committed. And Jonathan who after telling Fusco that he thinks that he is a fraud and that he is an angel, and Fusco then apologizes to him after God tells him that Jonathan told him was true, decides to speak to God and as

Episode 5: The Devil and Jonathan Smith
Mark runs over a girl and overwrought with guilt, he is approached by a man named Jabez Stone, who offers to let the girl live if Mark gives his boss, the Devil, his soul. Mark signs a contract thinking that it's a con or something. But when the girl lives Mark turns to Jonathan but Jonathan says that there are rules about interefering with another entity even if it's the Devil. Mark's only hope is for them to get the contract. While on their way to visit Mark's friends, Jonathan lashes back at some bullies. Because of this, Jonathan gets recalled. When Mark reaches his friends, he inadvertently slips out a bit of info that leads his friends to reveal to their eldest daughter that she was adopted. She then sets out fo find her birth mother. She then discovers that her adopted mother is her birth mother. It seems that years ago, she got pregnant and her aunt, who was her guardian forced her into putting her baby up for adoption. When she married her husband, she told him that she couldn't have children, so they adopted her. And when their second daughter was born she said it was a miracle. The husband upon hearing of this decides to leave her and the younger daughter joins him. Mark tries to help him but he refuses. Episode 12: The Good Doctor
Jonathan and Mark go to work for a football team. Their mission is to help Alex Carpenter, a player, who is worried that he might be cut, so he takes pills. Dr. Hickey, the team doctor, who supplies him with the pills he takes, is also taking pills. His son, Neal who works with his father, who is constantly being pressured by his father to do better, is also taking pills, without his father's knowledge. When his son nearly dies, and learning that it's because of him that he is an addict. He admits that he is an addict too. When Alex admits his addiction, he goes to a support group meeting, and he is shocked to see his dealer, Dr. Hickey there, and is the guest speaker, but is stunned and moved when both he and his son admit their addiction.
