Overview
Gary Lineker presents highlights of the opening weekend of the eagerly awaited new Premier League season. Fans of promoted trio Norwich, Sheffield United and Aston Villa have spent the summer counting down the days until their top flight return, and all three are in action. Norwich kicked off proceedings on Friday night with a trip to last season’s runners-up Liverpool, with Sheffield United and Aston Villa facing respective away matches at Bournemouth and Tottenham today. 2018-19 champions Manchester City begin at West Ham, coached by ex-City manager Manuel Pellegrini, with the day’s other games seeing Burnley against Southampton, Crystal Palace versus Everton and last season’s FA Cup runners-up Watford taking on Brighton.
