With the race for the Premier League title heating up, there were some crucial games at the top of the table. Manchester City's trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool demanded top billing with City having lost 4-1 on home soil in November's corresponding fixture. West Ham and Tottenham met at Upton Park in another crucial game at the top of the table, while title contenders Leicester City and Arsenal had home matches against West Brom and Swansea respectively. At the bottom of the table, struggling Aston Villa took on Everton, Newcastle travelled to Stoke and Sunderland welcomed Crystal Palace to the Stadium of Light.
