Formerly part of the old Czechoslovakia national side, Slovakia do not have a great record against stronger international sides while England must win their group to be assured of an automatic place at the tournament finals in Portugal.

In today's other matches involving British teams, Wales faced a tough test at the Millennium Stadium as they looked for a win against Italy, the Euro 2000 runners-up, while in Group Six Northern Ireland look for a first-time win over the Ukraine at Windsor Park.
