Overview
Gayle, Armstrong and Smith attend an armed robbery at a toy shop, with the manager shot during the raid, but a pursuit fails to prevent an escape. Carter takes charge of the investigation, and CCTV footage appears to show two known thieves casing the shop the day before. Carter suspects that a woman seen arguing with an employee moments before the robbery was acting as a decoy, but while Brown is convinced of her innocence, the rogue DS is only interested in undermining her opinion.

Brown and the sister of a suspect in an armed robbery investigation are taken captive by armed drug addicts. Carter, convinced he knows who is behind both the robbery and the kidnapping, mounts an observation with Armstrong and Gayle, but their operation is compromised when the kidnap victim's ex-husband arrives at the scene to confront their prime suspect. When Carter discovers his prime suspect is not responsible, he enlists his help to identify two of his employees, the men suspected of the abduction. Fletcher is intrigued to discover the toy shop manager was victim of another armed robbery a few years earlier; is he foolish enough to try it again or is it pure coincidence?

School pupil Kim Patterson gives Nate some surprising information. Nate discovers that her father was involved in the theft of Becky's computer. Becky tells Nate the reasons why she split up with Kim's father but is everything as straight forward as it seems.

Schoolgirl Lily Walmsley goes missing and CCTV footage shows her getting into a car with a man. Rebecca her friend tells the police that she has not been happy recently and that Lily had bruises on her body. The car she is seen getting into ends up just being a mini cab driver. Lily calls her mother in serious trouble and the team try to find her before it is too late.

Nate has to break up a fight between two parents at the school. Nate later finds out that one of them has become slandered in a rape case. After he is beaten up CID investigate and are shocked to discover the identity of the real culprit.

A restaurant is put under surveillance as it hardly has any customers but its owner Maloud Senac has been putting large deposits into his bank account. An informant tells Stevie that Senac is going to import thirty kilos of cocaine into Britain. When a sting is set up, things don't go to plan. Senac's daughter Salma is kidnapped and when Samantha finds out she wonders why he not told the police.

When Rhys Tanner's home is broken into Nate investigates. Nate discovers that two school pupils could be involved and investigates further.
Episode 36: To Die For: Part II
When Daniel Pfeiffer is questioned he ends up admitting that he and Salma Senac are in a relationship. He insists that is was his brother Gary who was involved in the drug deal with Senac. After Kenny regains consciousness he informs Terry that it was Gary who shot him but it was Daniel who goaded him into doing it. Samantha announces that she has resigned and that today is her last day.
