Fortunately, Superman arrives to stop the missile even though Clark remains on television. Lois destroys the Chronotron and it is revealed that the Clark Kent on television was really Jonathan Kent in disguise.

Superman, however, is only in suspended animation and Lois Lane awakens him. Superman destroys the Hunter and uses the Phantom Zone projector in order to keep General Zod in the Phantom Zone.
